While living in New York, the homeless always captured my attention. Perhaps it was because I was not used to seeing them everywhere, but I believe I noticed them for a reason. During my senior year, I had the chance to collaborate with my boyfriend, a graphic designer, for a project called Rainbow Change. In the Bible, a rainbow symbolizes hope and salvation. We wanted to transmit this message of hope to the homeless, so we designed rainbow colored stickers with different messages on the reverse. The stickers can easily be stuck onto quarters and stand out from the numerous George Washingtons cast into cups and hands of those who could use some extra warmth.
